HEAD COACH – Todd MacRobbie

Todd MacRobbie takes over as Head Men’s Lacrosse coach after 6 year as the Assistant Coach for the Arizona State University Men’s Lacrosse Team.

During his tenure as an Assistant coach the Sun Devils have accomplished the following

  • As the Offensive Coordinator team’s points per game average was 12.65 (2015 season)
  • As the Defensive Coordinator team’s goals against average was 5.95 (2012-2014)
  • Team’s overall record during assistant coaching tenure 77-19 a winning percentage of 80.2%
  • Won 3 conference championships
  • Coached in 4 National Final Fours and 2 National Championship games

During the 2013 season the Sun Devils earned a Goals Against Average of 5.62/game, only once giving up double digit goals in a game. During the SLC play-offs and the MCLA National Championship event the Sun Devils held its opponents to a 4.33 GAA over a 6 game span.

Prior to his duties with the Sun Devils, Coach MacRobbie had fourteen years of coaching experience with previous jobs as the Head Program Director of Gilbert Lacrosse. The highlight of Coach MacRobbie’s tenure at Gilbert was the Tigers 2004 State Championship runner-up finish.

Todd is a 1996 graduate of Arizona State University where he was a four-year player at attack for the Sun Devils. Todd was a member of the 1995 WCLL Championship team and was a two-time WCLL All-Star selection. He is a graduate of Suffern High School (NY).

In addition to serving as a coach for the ASU Men’s Lacrosse program Todd has been teaching Elementary School Physical Education for 14 plus years and works several lacrosse camps across the country.

ASSISTANT COACH – Ben Prepchuk

Ben Prepchuk has been hired as an assistant coach for the ASU Sun Devils. He brings a lot of playing experience to the position. Ben started playing lacrosse at the age of 14 for the Sherwood Park Titans in Alberta, Canada. He was later recruited to play JR. A lacrosse for the Burnaby Lakers where he played in back-to-back National Championships and was a cornerstone on offense helping the Lakers win the 2000 Minto Cup. Ben was named “Rookie of the Year” (1999) and First-Team All-Star (1999 & 2000). In his two seasons with the Lakers he scored 79-goals/70-assists in 34 games.

Ben played Division I lacrosse as a middie for two seasons at Radford University in Virginia (1999 & 2000). In his Freshman year he finished third in team scoring with 24-goals/15-assists in 14 games. In his Sophomore season he led the team in scoring, and finished 4th in the country in goals per game with 36-goals/13-assists in 12 games.

Ben helped the Brampton Excelsiors win the 2002 Mann Cup for the Canadian National Championship. He finished second in team scoring in the series with 11-goals/10-assists in 7 games.

Ben was drafted third overall in the 2000 National Lacrosse League (NLL) entry draft by the New York Saints. He was selected as the Assistant Captain of the Calgary Roughnecks in his 2nd year as a pro, and played for the Colorado Mammoth, and Edmonton Rush. He was a part of the 2006 NLL Champion’s Cup winning Colorado Mammoth. Ben finished his professional career with 132-goals/143-assists for 275 points in 99 games.

ASSISTANT COACH – Jeff Wasson

Jeff Wasson enters his second year as an Assistant Coach with the Arizona State Sun Devils. Prior to ASU, Wasson spent one year as the Offensive and Recruiting Coordinator at Curry College (Milton, MA) and two years as an Assistant Coach at Clark University (Worcester, MA).

While coaching at Curry College, he helped lead the program to record for wins and goals in a single season, while also running a man-up unit that led the conference in total man-up goals.

As a player, Wasson played at D-III Clark University under Head Coach, Jeff Cohen. During his playing career he was twice an all-conference selection, leading the league in goals each of those two years (2012-2013). Wasson also served as captain at Clark in 2013 and 2014. Hailing from Peterborough, Ontario, he also played Jr. box lacrosse for the Peterborough Lakers and Whitby Warriors organizations.

VOLUNTEER COACH – Cody Soberanes

Cody Soberanes joins the team for the 2018 season in the position of Volunteer Coach with the Arizona State Sun Devils. He previously coached the Scorpion Youth Lacrosse team in 2017 (Danville, CA) and coached lacrosse at Horizon High School in 2015.

Cody graduated from Monte Vista High School in Danville, CA and completed his Finance degree in 2014 from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. While at Canisius he played Midfield on the D1 team. He was a member of the 2012 MAAC Championship team, was named team MVP, All League and All Conference during his 3 years at Canisius College. He was also awarded the Community Service Award among all Canisius College student-athletes in 2014.

Cody is looking forward to being a part of the team this season.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH – Jim Mirabito

coach_maribitoCoach Mirabito has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for 30 years. He has worked with the New Jersey Nets and New Jersey Devils, The Arizona Sting, as well as the Phoenix Suns and Olympic athletes. He began his lifelong commitment to lacrosse playing for Pinkerton Academy (Derry, N.H.). In 1979 he came to ASU. While there, he was a 4 year captain. Coach Mirabito was the first ASU player ever selected to the USILA all star team in 1983. He then became the Defensive Coordinator from 1988-1990. In 2007 he participated as a coach in the first NLL Combine at the Pepsi Center in Denver CO. After reaching the mid Grandmasters Division age group he recently retired from playing. Coach Mirabito continues to work full-time as a Phoenix firefighter. He resides in Phoenix with Shelly his wife of 15 years.
